Marysville Falls

  • Location: Marysville, BC
  • Date(s): July 30
  • Cones:
Marysville Falls is located right in the middle of the village of Marysville, BC, which is located about ten minutes west of Kimberly.  You walk down a set of stairs, which will lead you to a wooden bridge and a path on the other side of the creek.  Believe me, not only is the walk to the falls well worth the two or three minutes it takes to reach it, but the scenery along the way is absolutely spectacular.

Six or seven (we weren't counting) small cascades preclude the main waterfall. The rock formations are incredible, with several showing off deep oxidation (the iron is high enough that some of the rocks are a deep orange-red color) that gleams quite brightly in the sunlight.  The waterfall itself, at 100 feet high, is breath-taking...

We have given Marysville Falls five pine cones.  We shot two rolls of film here; there are just no words to describe the incredible beauty and wonder of this amazing place, tucked below street level in the village of Marysville...

PLEASE NOTE:  There are more pictures coming, as we get the film developed...

Wow... these pictures are amazing. I can just imagine the sounds of the waterfalls. The color of the wet stone is just beautiful.

Thanks, Az. The waterfall is actually a series of about seven or eight small cascades which lead to the main waterfall. It really was breathtaking - and the stone... Man, when the sun hit those boulders, it was just mindblowing...
