Well,
that was an interesting vacation!

The first few days were wet and cool, and so were the last few days. We spent the first three days at Wasa (
see previous entry). But the days were cool and wet, and when Day 4 dawned cool and wet, too, we decided enough was enough. We got ourselves together, packed up wet, and headed south, towards Yahk. We hoped the weather would dry out, and by the time we were approaching Yahk, it seemed our prayers were going to be answered. But suddenly, just as we were pulling into the Yahk Campground - at which we'd made reservations for 5 nights - the rain started again, coming down hard and fast, and we ended up booking a room in the Yahk Motel just so we could dry out. Inside of about 15 minutes, we agreed that while we really enjoy the hamlet of Yahk, itself, we
won't be returning there as campers again - and we would not be spending our remaining four nights there, either. We'll tell you more about this particular "adventure" in our next post.
We felt as if we were being herded south. So, we went with that - and we ended up spending five glorious days at beautiful Nk'Mip Campground in Osoyoos, BC. We were certain that because it's desert country out there, we would finally have a chance to dry out and warm up; we were right. And it was
awesome.

But, we were there because the universe wanted us there, not because there was room for us; we'll tell you more about
that adventure, too.
Although we didn't want to leave Nk'Mip, we had no choice. We were booked in at Birch Grove (
which we didn't get to visit last year, because I was so sick), and we just couldn't cancel again. So, we spent the rest of our vacation there, and with the exception of the last few days, we had great weather. We ended up cutting things short, though, because the weather was just not co-operating with us - and, the zipper in the main part of our tent broke. Stay tuned to find out how we dealt with that unwanted surprise.
While we didn't camp at any new places this year, we did visit some places we hadn't visited before, and we did have some pretty interesting adventures. In fact, we had quite an unexpected adventure on our 11th wedding anniversary, which we spent a hotel that is reputedly haunted...

Do stay tuned, as we
will be showing you pictures of places familiar to us but not visited in a long time, and places new to us. Between us, we've shot almost 30 rolls of film; obviously, we have a lot to show you!

Have a great day and a great week ahead, and stay tuned for more installments of The Camper, coming soon!
