The Disappearing Wolf

In the previous entry, I wrote about a beautiful timber wolf we saw at Baker Creek, along the Bow Valley Parkway.  Well, I got the pictures back, and for some reason, the wolf pictures were the only two shots that didn't come through.  It's truly a mystery, because not five minutes before, I'd been photographing elk that were just up the road; the film I use is designed for late-afternoon conditions (among other things), and when I took the pictures of the wolf, not only did I use my flash (which is the right thing to do under those conditions), but I was closer to him than I was to the elk.   We can't for the life of us figure out what went wrong; he's barely a smudge on the negatives, too....  I'm so sorry I can't show you that amazing animal...

There are more pictures coming of our day trip, but here's some of the scenery I enjoyed along the Bow Valley Parkway. I hope you enjoy them, in spite of the disappearing wolf.  And while you're looking at them, take a good look at the hooves of the mule deer; they're blue...

Thanks for dropping by!

We love traveling! We lived on my husband's 'big truck for quite a few months several years ago and saw 47 of the 50 states. Now we like to travel and take pictures.

It's neat to see these places through your eyes! Have a wonnnderful rest of your Wednesday!

I love your photos(as usual)! I'm sorry about the wolf pictures. That had to have been upsetting. After packing the house prior to moving to Georgia, Josh surprised me with my first-ever digital camera. It was the best birthday/Christmas/anniversary/just-because gift ever! I love it! He'd been deployed for all those holidays and totally made up for it.

Blessings!

Perhaps the wolf was a spirit that wished to not be captured on film? Just a thought. A silly one to some people perhaps, but it's what popped into my head.

You would probably love to look at the photos Monty Sloan takes. He is a wolf photographer (a fantastic one at that!) and photographs the wolves for a place called Wolf Park. Man... I'd love to go there for one of his photography seminars, meet him and work with him a bit. Anyway his web site is www.wolfphotography.com, there's a link to Wolf Park's web site there on his site if you want to check them out too.
