In the previous entry, I wrote about a beautiful timber wolf we saw at Baker Creek, along the Bow Valley Parkway. Well, I got the pictures back, and for some reason, the wolf pictures were the only two shots that didn't come through. It's truly a mystery, because not five minutes before, I'd been photographing elk that were just up the road; the film I use is designed for late-afternoon conditions (among other things), and when I took the pictures of the wolf, not only did I use my flash (which is the right thing to do under those conditions), but I was closer to him than I was to the elk. We can't for the life of us figure out what went wrong; he's barely a smudge on the negatives, too.... I'm so sorry I can't show you that amazing animal...

There are more pictures coming of our day trip, but here's some of the scenery I enjoyed along the Bow Valley Parkway. I hope you enjoy them, in spite of the disappearing wolf. And while you're looking at them, take a good look at the hooves of the mule deer; they're
blue...
